So it died last night. Nothing coming up on the monitor. Previous 4 weeks are random acts of spasms from my video card causing me to completely shut the computer down and boot it back up in order for it to work properly.
Last night it never came back and th monitor is showing no input. The display on the motherboard says 25.
I'm thinking it's a video card problem. Anyone have any insight?

do you have a collection of electronic junk?
maybe it's time to dust some pieces off and try ones that used to work <.<
did you try resetting your bios?
If you did notice a recurring issue with your graphics card (video lockups while in most games make me think of heat related issues on the GPU). How old is your hardware (and a better question, is it still under warranty)?

Yes it happened during games. Didn't matter the game. My co-worker suggested I check my monitor. I did and it works fine.
I removed power from everything and let it sit a bit and the problem persists. Me thinks me needs to spend some dollars and replace the video card. Oh yeah...the computer is over 3 years old from Alienware.
I recently de-dusted it too because of the problems it was having and cleaned up the fans but then it gave out on me a week later.

dx10 is pretty much pointless until vista is actually a good operating system

I have had problems in the past similar to this, Not sure what causes it, but one possible fix is to take apart the computer, clean all the dust off, and put it all back. Sometimes the contacts on parts just lose connection, video card, memory stick, possibly even the cpu (happened once). When one part loses something, anything that seems odd can be a cause.
Once I even had my hard drives not writing properly (wouldn't install anything) and windows would lock randomly, the cause was the cpu had to be removed and reinserted (was the last thing I tried.) You usually don't have to mess with the power supply connections except on the video card.
